The Muslim Community Centre of East London.

Adjacent to the mosque the Muslim center. Newly reconstructed somewhere along the 2000 century for muslims to hold events and functions such as weddings and other Islamic events. It is also used for other local events and programs.

A clearer roadside picture of how the mosque looks on a bright day. The lighting and contrast can be seen how the materials are shown in practical use. The parts with most exposure to light and how the light affects the mosque itself can be seen.

The Minarets

One of the minarets on the mosque. The minarets symbolize an important feature for all mosques. Speakers are used on each minaret to call the 'Adhan'; the call to prayer. It is used five times a day and also for other special incidents like eid and Jum'ah.

The pillars on the mosque. In my opinion they are raised high above the houses and other buildings to show significance and so that from a distance a traveller can see where the mosque is to come to pray or for whatever reason.

The entrance (womans)

The main entrance of the mosque to the womans prayer rooms. In all mosques a segregation is made between the male and the female prayer rooms.

Picture taken from the centre of the entrance of the mosque from opposite the street. From the Picture it can be seen that the entrance is quite big compared to house doors or entrances seen in the mini studies. This shows the structure is grand and the entrance needs to portray the importance of the interior as well as the whole building itself. The calligraphy on the wall of the entrance shows what the purpose of the building is.
